Dining In has been inspected by North Ayrshire Council and they have awarded us a Pass* Certificate, which confirms our hygiene and procedures meet national standards.
Many thanks to John for his first class catering at my 60th Birthday Dinner at Castle Lodge. In total, eight of us sat round the dinner table and were waited on by Kirste as we all enjoyed the lovely three course meal John prepared, swallowed down with some lovely red and white wines.
I would recommend John in the first instance and certainly use his services again when back in Arran. Thank you John and Kirstie

I can't recommend you highly enough. For our very special family occasion we got a wonderfully cooked dinner. Each dish delicious and cooked to perfection. The filling for the starter tart rich and creamy and our fish just right. A big thank you for helping to make our occasion so special

A huge thank you to John (and his assistant on the day, Aileen) for providing such a delicious cold buffet to celebrate my mum's 80th birthday. All the dishes and salads were gorgeous, but special mention to the haggis & marmalade hot starter, the coronation chicken and the dunlop cheese and tomato quiche (which my mum said was the best she has ever tasted!)
John and Aileen were very friendly and served all the champagne and canapes to start, helped anyone who needed with the buffet, cleared all the plates and set the dishwasher going (Bliss!), it made the day much more special for us all, leaving it in John's capable hands!

A suberb birthday buffet lunch for 35. The choice of dishes was amazing it was difficult to choose but what we chose was all very delicious. The feed back from our guests was "What a fantastic meal and who was the chef?!!" Thank you John and of course Alexia who added the glamour!

With the castle’s accomplished chef turning out traditional cuisine (local salmon with thyme beurre blanc, fillet of lamb and roast beef were among the standouts), I had little reason to venture beyond the castle gates.
... it meant a lot to experience a true, old-fashioned, fantastic feast for four days. Not since the old cook cooked up a storm in 1961 have I eaten so much and so well.
John and his team provided the perfect dining experience for our guests who all complimented us on the chef's excellent autumnal menu. Our small and intimate wedding party were all catered for and all tastes covered. The portions were very filling and a seasonal wedding in Arran was a night to remember thanks to the meal. Be sure and line up John, the chef recommended by the 3RD HOME host. He did a meal of local scallops, mussels, and then beef with Red Squirrel (local beer). It was to die for. Be sure and request this you will never forget it. And his famous dessert too, I can not stop thinking about it.

I cannot recommend John Boyd more highly. His standard of cooking is consistently of the highest no matter the numbers involved, his repertoire is immense and he is always more than happy to try new ideas. He is a joy to have in the house, has a great knack with others, always cheerful and gives the appearance of being almost unflappable…
What a superb dinner we had! The beef fillet with wild mushrooms was outstanding and the service from the "A Team" couldn't have been better.
John & his A Team prepared and served a lovely meal to finish off our week of celebration. We had a hot-smoked salmon starter, a fantastic main course consisting of fillet of beef in a peppercorn sauce with handcut chips & green veg and last but by no means least a gorgeous strawberry eclair pudding. Every dish was beautifully cooked & presented & many of our guests commented that the beef in particular was the best they had ever tasted! It was a delicious meal from beginning to end & we could not recommend John and his team highly enough. Thank you to all for making our evening extra special & the occasion unforgettable .
John cooked a superb dinner for a special celebration. We had scallops for starter, a fabulous duck ballotin and as we've eaten all over the world we know his chocolate and chestnut roulade was exceptional! I can't recommend him highly enough.
